U16's, Just like watching Brazil !

Berry Boys YFC saw its very first Berry 3's.  In other words Joga Bonita ( By the way Joga Bonita in Brazilian or Portugese means 'A Beautiful Game'). 

Sunday 20th was the date on a specially prepared Valance Way pitch. Many thanks to Dave for that.  Special goals were also built by myself in my back garden. Six teams enjoyed their first experience of Berry 3's with various silly names. With the likes of the 3 Lions, Brain Drain, Aint Got A Clue, Tornadoes, Lawsons Heroes and the Bum Fluffers.  All teams being Under 16's consisting of Tony's and Trevors Teams.

Fast and Furious with only 3 minutes per game suggests not a second to lose.  The six under 16's sides competing in a very physical game with lots of goals included.  With nearly 40 games till the final it looked as though Lawsons Heroes were going to win the competition undefeated.  To no avail for Lawsons Heroes the Tornadoes take the Honours, Lawsons Heroes coming second. 

The third and fourth play off between Brain Drain and Three Lions proved to be one of the most competitive games of the day.  Three Lions suffering two injuries and a defeat putting them in fourth spot.  Medals for the top three teams were awarded.

All in all a fantastic day considering it was our first ever Berry 3's competition.  All the under 16 players enjoyed it so much it was suggested for a summer league next year. Thank you to all those who took part.  You know they enjoyed it just look at the picture!
