Boys Tigers 2 - 1 Great Wakering Colts
Berry Boys U10s Tigers win the double
Just when i thought my management career couldn't get any better, my team went and did something even Chelsea couldn't do win the double, the cup match was a great event with the Berry Tigers playing Great Wakering Colts.
The boys were led out and had their names called out over the tannoy and there was cheer for every name called, the match itself was a bit onesided at the start, where the Tigers could of scored 4 goals in the first ten minutes, wakering defended resolutely, but half time came with the score 0-0,the second half started the same as the first but we still could score.
Just when we thought we wasnt going to score, up popped Charlie with a solo goal 1-0, thinking that would settle us ,m but we had forgotten about the Colts, who started to put us under a little bit of pressure, we coped with it well, with the Colts coming close once in this time, but we need the second goal to stop the jitters, who did that come to but my own son Callum, who poked a sweet little shot into the bottom corner
That should have sealed the game for the Tigers, but the colts had better ideas and pulled one back with five minutes to go, the nailbiting minutes seemed to stretch on and on, thinking there was still two minutes to go the ref blew the whistle for full time.
The Tigers won the cup 2-1, at the trophy presentation, the gallient losers where first with all the berry boys clapping them, then it was our turn, the boys collected their winner s trophys, then up stepped captain Charlie, who lifed the cup, as their manager i was very proud of all of them.
Special thanks goes to Richard Hawley who was my assistant for the day and to the Parents and friends that have supported us, not only at the cup match but thoughout the whole season.
