BERRY BOYS UNDER 15'S VISIT WHITE HART LANE

Saturday 26.11.05

Saturday was to be a traning day with  a differance. The U15,s 'A' was to embark on a journey to North Londons Tottenham Stadium.

On arrival we was sent to the Press Breifing/ waiting room. 10 minutes pass, and now its our turn to see the impresive Stadium for its self. First stop, the ball court. A massive indoor astroturf . The squad of 16 was put through the paceses of a Tottenham youth side for just over 2 hours by Tottenham staff Coaches Mark, Whose a "level A" coach and Robbie a" level 3".

I have never seen my squad sweat so much! Time for a quick drink and on to the tour. We began in the Press room. You know the one we all see on telly when a big player is signed up. Sam, our Captain got in the hot seat and took a few dodgy questions from the seated audiance. Then onto the players lounge. A place where all players and family congregate after the game. A FREE bar to be had as well. Next stop the room of hireing and fireing, the boardroom with the biggest table you ever see. Also with a FREE bar. Then on to the private boxes, and out to the Directors boxes. The best seats in the house of course.

We made our way back down to ground level passing many a famous shirt from past and present all over the walls, till we reached the away team dressing room. A room claimed to be very small, with a low ceiling and no air con, together with a rusty physio bench, and a bath which take 45 minuets to fill. I wished we had that. The home dressing room, well a different story. All the the mod cons, like the biggegest plazma screens you ever saw, CD players, Showers what come on automaticly, and all you would ever want. Nice!

Now out to the tunnel ready to enter the pitch. 8 v 8 each side of the tunnel. Even the music was put on for when they run out....... to an empty stadium. But still good. Time to have a walk around the pitch in the rain and sit in Martin Jol's heated leather Riccaro seat. I want one. Of course a Team photo was taken followed by the giving out of medals.

Time to go home. But what a day. Even for a Gooner like me, still a great day out. I wonder how long it will take them to find the rotten fish i hid in the dressing room? Did'nt really.
